A Glasthule primary school has smashed the World Record for Christmas cracker pulling.
At lunchtime today, students, parents and teachers from the Harold School in Glasthule pulled 1,700 crackers at the same time in a line.
It smashes the previous record of 1,081 which was set by a school in England in 2015.
Pupils at the school made the crackers themselves out of recyclable or compostable materials, including cardboard toilet roll tubes.
The school has already raised nearly 23,500 as part of the attempt and you can donate here.

These students said creating the crackers was all part of the fun.
“They are all being made by the students at the Harold School and it is all done using recycled toilet paper and recycled material so it is good for the environment,” they said.
Principal Dervla Nic Mhathúna watched as the record was broken.
“Absolutely emotional and thrilled,” she said. “This has been the best week ever we are so delighted. It’s fantastic.”

A previous record for the most Christmas crackers pulled simultaneously in one line was also set in Dublin when more than 600 people gathered at the Grand Canal Docks in 2011 to pull 798 at once.
That record was then broken in 2015 by the Harrodian School in Barnes in England, which lined up 1081 people to pull crackers in a chain.
The pupils at the Harold School have now smashed that record, pulling 1,700 crackers in a field outside the school.
