Gerry Adams has described his arrest as a sustained 'sinister campaign' alleging his involvement in the killing of Jean McConville.
The Sinn Fein leader was released without charge yesterday after 96 hours of questioning into the murder in 1972.
Speaking at a press conference he wanted to make it clear he supports the Police Service of Northern Ireland - but thinks his arrest was politically motivated.
He also protested his innocence over the murder once more:
Meanwhile, Jean McConville's son Michael is calling for an independent investigation into his mother's death.
