The Sinn Fein leader has expressed his sympathy with Aengus O'Snodaigh and his family.
Gardaí are investigating a stabbing at the home of Aengus O'Snodaigh.
Emergency services were called to his house on the Old Naas Road in Bluebell, Dublin in the early hours of this morning where they treated his son for wounds.
The 18-year-old was taken by ambulance to St. James Hospital where he continues to be treated
