Limerick criminal Ger Dundon has been released from Wheatfield prison.
He was due for release today, after serving four years for violent disorder, but was freed yesterday evening due to security concerns.
Ger Dundon is a member of one of the most high-profile crime families in the country.
Gardai in Limerick are said to be on alert that he could return home.
