A referendum on Gay Marriage will be held ahead of the next general election.
It's most likely to take place in the Spring of 2015.
If the Government lasts it's full term, an election would then be held early the following year.
Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore confirmed at a Labour Youth Conference in Limerick over the weekend that the referendum will take place in the lifetime of this government.
