Gardai say they want to speak with anyone who witnessed a car explosion in the city centre last night.
Locals in Long Lane in Dublin 8 reported hearing a "loud bang".
Nobody was injured, but nearby homes were damaged in last night's fire.
Gardai say a car was found on fire following a suspected explosion.
They' now want to speak with a taxi driver who picked up a man outside a takeaway and pub at the New St./Clanbrassil St junction, heading towards St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Officers say the passenger would've been injured and bleeding at the time.
They also want anyone who saw what happened to contact their local Garda Station.
