Gardaí in Dublin are renewing their appeal for information following the murder of Michael Gannon in Skerries on Thursday.
The 55-year-old was attacked while babysitting his two grandchildren.
A 29-year-old Romanian man is still being questioned by Gardai following his arrest shortly after the stabbing.
A post mortem was carried out yesterday and the results won't be released for operational reasons.
Investigating officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact Balbriggan Garda Station.
