The Taoiseach says Gardaí are investigating an outdoor party at the Oliver Bonds flats over the weekend.
Videos emerged online of as many as 100 people dancing at the event which is banned under new COVID rules in the capital.
Gardaí are not investigating those who attended the event but there may be sanctions for those who organised it.
A number of other videos of people partying in Dublin emerged as 241 new cases of COVID were identified in the county yesterday.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says people need to stick by the guidelines to reduce the spread of the virus:
"The Gardaí's approach all along, operationally, has been to encourage compliance, work with people, engage with people."
"Enforcement is a last resort in many cases."
"I think the Oliver Bond situation is being investigated by the Gardaí, the manner of it's organisation."
"That's a serious issue, a gathering of that kind."

Oliver Bond Rave - Locals Disturbed By Urine, Noise, Music
Two residents told us that they had to endure the noise from the rave, along with rubbish left behind afterwards.
A woman told us, "The music was too loud, I live there and it was mental."
She added she had to move people who were urinating there, "I had them on the stairs pissing, I had to keep putting them off."
Another woman said she was concerned about the lack of adherence to public health advice.
"It was bang out of order and it shouldn't have happened," she said.
Adding to that she says, "...there was too many there, there was no social distancing - whatsoever!"

"Invasion" Of Young People Causing "Mayhem" - Flynn
Local Councillor Mannix Flynn says authorities need to clamp down on events like this:
"It was absolutely outrageous what went on, this was tantamount to an invasion by a whole group of young adults from all over the neighborhood."
"They decided to descend on this block and create absolute mayhem and intimidation."
Cllr Flynn added to this, saying people who actually live there have been tormented by the music and the mess that was left behind.
"I've had many calls from residents in the area, they're sick and tired of this."
"This was like a gazebo, this had massive sound equipment, this was very obviously going on!"
"We've got CCTV cameras around the area, Dublin City Council can use the Gardaí to back them up in this situation."
