Gardai Investigate Armed Robbery In Crumlin

A cash box was stolen in an armed robbery in Crumlin this afternoon.

Gardai are investigating the incident outside a post office at around lunctime today.

Gardaí are investigating a cash in transit robbery that occurred in Dublin 12 this afternoon, Thursday 1st June 2023.

Shortly before 1pm, two males, one of whom was armed with an imitation firearm, approached a male security employee outside a post office on the St Agnes Road in Crumlin and threatened him, demanding the contents of the cash box he was transporting.

The males then took the cash box and fled the scene on an electric scooter and a bicycle via the St Agnes Road in the direction of Windmill Road.

No injuries were reported during the course of this incident. The imitation firearm used during this incident has been recovered by Gardaí.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the St Agnes Road/Windmill Road between 12:30pm and 1:30pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
