A garda investigation is underway into a shooting at the Charlestown Shopping Centre.
The attack happened at around 6:15pm yesterday evening in broad daylight.
A number of shots were fired from a gun in the carpark of the Charlestown Shopping centre close to a number of fast food restaurants, which would have been busy at the time.
No one was hurt but the bullet narrowly missed a 5 year old child who was sitting in a car.
The attacker, who was wearing a balaclava, fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Golf driven by an accomplice.
The registration of the car is 02 MH 7775.
This car was later found burnt out at Shancastle Estate in Clondalkin and has been taken away for a technical examination.
Gardai at Finglas have set up an incident room and are appealing for anyone who saw the car in Finglas or Clondalkin, to contact them.
You can contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 6667500 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.
