A Garda in his 20s was injured in an assault in Dublin City Centre yesterday.
The officer, who's stationed in Kilmainham, received medical attention for non-life threatening injuries.
Last night, shortly before 9 o'clock, Gardai on patrol around Basin Street in Dublin stopped a vehicle.
Two people were in the car, and the driver assaulted one of the officers.
The Irish Independent reports the Garda was sprayed with suspected ammonia, which can cause burns and irritated skin.
The two people then fled the area on foot, and the car they were in had previously been reported stolen.
It has since been removed from the scene for forensic and technical examinations.
After the incident, a woman in her 30s was arrested and is being held at a city centre Garda station.
