Gardaí are investigating a series of car fires that started in the early hours of this morning in south Dublin.
Four cars were damaged in just an hour and a half in blazes in Ballinteer and Rathfarnham.
Firefighters and Gardaí got to the scene of the first fire at Marley Court at 5.20am.
The Dublin Fire Brigade crew from Rathfarnham put out the blaze, but there was damage to a car.
Then at 6.40am, they were called to another fire just ten minutes' drive away at Ballinteer Drive -- where two more cars were in flames.
Just five minutes after that, there was another report of a fire nearby at The Dale apartment complex off The Heights in Ballinteer.
Local Councillor Anne Colgan says the fires are quite worrying.
"I have never heard of anything like this happening before in the area," she said. "Definitely people need to be reassured that they can safely go to bed and not have to worry that something like this is going to happen in the dead of night.
