A Garda gun was discharged and one member of the force has been injured after being attacked by a dog following two armed robberies in Dublin.
Shortly after midday yesterday a man with a gun entered a shop in Rialto, threatened staff and fled with cash.
The suspect then continued into a supermarket in Kilmainham shortly afterwards, made threats to employees again and left with a number of cigarettes.
In a follow-up search of a house in Inchicore, a man in his 20s was arrested.
The Garda gun was fired during the operation when a member of the force was attacked by a dog.
Nobody was injured - however the dog has been taken to a vet for treatment.
