A member of the Gardai has been attacked in the Kimmage area last night.
The incident happened at a park between 7:45 and 8:45pm.
It's understood the garda observed some suspicious activity at a green area in Ravensdale Park near the KCR and when he went to investigate, he was attacked.
The Garda suffered a blow to the head and other members of the force came to his aid before he was taken to St James hospital for treatment.
His injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.
The Garda is based at Sundrive Road station, and Gardai at Crumlin are investigating.
The scene has been sealed off and no arrests have been made.
