The GAA has been given the go ahead for a 200-bed hotel near Croke Park.
The 7-storey development will be built on the grounds of Clonliffe College in Drumcondra. It comes after the sporting organisation bought the site from the Catholic Church.
Dublin city council granted planning permission despite a number of objections over the scale and density of the project.
Locals had raised concerns over the car parking provision and felt pressure would be put on the local residential area in terms of additional traffic and parking.
Dalata is to operate the hotel.
