Plans for a funicular train in the Phoenix Park have been scrapped.
While a driverless shuttle, a train station and extra facilities are still being considered by the OPW.
More than 1,500 people made submissions as part of a public consultation on Europe's largest city park, that gets 10 million visitors every year.
Some of the proposals for the green space included a funicular, or type of outdoor elevator, new parking and retail facilities and the redevelopment of the Ashtown visitor centre and the Magazine Fort.
According to the Irish times, people were concerned about overdeveloping and commercialising the park.
The OPW has said there are no plans for major retail development but that extra facilities are needed, including more toilets. There are currently approximately ten of them in the park.
The paper reports that developing the Ashtown centre and Fort will now be progressed.
While a mobility study, looking at transport modes in the park, is to be carried out next year.
