A fundraiser set up this afternoon in memory of Thiago Cortes has raised over €11,000 so far.

Friends of the 28 year old who died following a hit and run in Dublin on Monday night have set up a GoFundMe page raising money towards repatriating his remains to Brazil.

The car involved in the collision with the cyclist fled the scene on North Wall Quay and was discovered nearby.

Thiago's fiancé Teresa Dantes today appealed for driver of the car to ‘be brave’ and come forward.

Crime Editor with the Irish Sun Stephen Breen says gardai say the car involved is a Ford Focus, either blue or grey.

"Gardai believe there were four individuals in the car at the time.

"They're satisfied they have identified the driver of the car, who is believed to be a teenager."
