There are fresh calls to deal with Dublin seagulls.
Fianna Fail's Lorraine Clifford-Lee says the birds are causing chaos in Balbriggan.
The Portmarnock-based senator proposed the use of lasers to tackle what she described as "aggressive seagulls".
"Scientists in the UK have been studying the use of lasers as kind of a scaring mechanism to dislodge them from unnatural breeding grounds and bring them back to the cliffs".
"They [the seagulls] have come into the town and they're causing huge problems ... I'd one man telling me about his five year-old grandson who was badly injured in a seagull attack in his own back garden".
