Four Dublin secondary schools have been listed among the top 10 in the country, according to a new league table.
The Teresian College, in Donnybrook, is the highest ranking school from the county in 4th.
Colaiste Iosagain, Gonzaga College, and Loreto College were also listed in the top 10.
Laurel Hill Coláiste, in Limerick, topped the list for the 4th year in a row.
The top 25 was dominated by fee paying and Irish speaking schools, while only two were mixed schools.
Sunday Times journalist Kate Butler, who compiled the list explains why "It's a historical thing with Ireland really this idea of single sex schools. You don't see it that much in other countries and why we're seeing the girls schools coming out so strongly on top isjust simply because they're full of girls and as we know girls are outperforming boys across the board in exam results"
