An orange weather alert has been issued for the entire country today, with gusts of up to 130 kilometers per hour forecast along with heavy rain, hail and thunder.

ESB says 1,500 homes are without power this morning because of the storms, mostly in Cork and Mayo.
Meanwhile Galway has been worst affected by the weather.

Irish Ferries has cancelled its swift sailings today because of the stormy weather.
While, Aer Lingus has cancelled 16 flights scheduled to fly from Dublin airport this morning.
Intending passengers are being advised to check the airlines' website before travelling.
Coast
Waves of over 10 meters are forecast.
