Over 5 million euro is being spent on revamping vacant local authority houses here in the city.
271 homes across the four local authorities will be renovated and then allocated to people on the housing list.
Housing Minister Jan O'Sullivan says she's determined that no suitable homes will be left empty, when there are families in need of housing.
"It'll be spent this year and it'll be bringing that number of houses back into use for people on housing waiting lists."
