Five Arrested In Garda Search In West Dublin

A woman and four men have been detained following a major search and arrest operation in west Dublin.

The operation involving over 100 Gardaí is targeting an organised crime group operating in the area.

Searches are ongoing.

A garda spokesperson says: "A major search and arrest operation was carried out in West Dublin, this morning, Saturday 15th February 2025, targeting an organised crime group operating in the area.

"A search continues at one residential property in the Dublin 15 area.

"A female (aged in her 30s) has also been arrested and detained under section 30 Offences Against the State Act, as amended, in connection with this investigation.

"The 5 males (4 aged in their 20s, 1 in his 40s) remain detained at Garda Stations in West Dublin under section 50 Criminal Justice Act, 2007 for the investigation of alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

"Further updates will be provided in due course, when appropriate."

Chief Superintendent Michael McNulty, Blanchardstown Garda station says: "This mornings’ operation is directly targeting the activities of an organised criminal gang in West Dublin.

"In An Garda Síochána, we understand the impact that organised crime has on our neighbourhoods and communities.

"Our commitment to tackling these threats remains steadfast, and this operation is a clear demonstration of our intent and determination to keep people safe”.
