Dublin Fire Brigade is preparing for it's busiest night of the year.
Crews dealt with more than 40 bonfires yesterday alone. During one incident pallets were set on fire in the grounds of a primary school in Mulhuddart.

People are being urged to head to council run events rather than illegal bonfires.

The DFB’s Chief Fire Officer is Dennis Keeley. He says they had more than 900 calls last October 31st;
"We still had 65 bonfires which we attended last year, it is down on the year before and the year before that. What we are seeing though are an increase in our ambulance and emergency responses to medical emergencies"
He went on to say that "the message really we want to get out this year is to ensure children are well supervised, that people stand well back from bonfires."
