A Finglas scrap collector has avoided a prison sentence after admitting having 136 kegs of stolen Guinness and other beer in his possession.
Patrick Devoy of Church View, Church Street collected the kegs from the Diageo offices on the quays by using a fake cheque in December 2011.
The 56-year-old claimed he was collecting them for somebody else and didn't realise he was breaking the law.
A criminal conviction has been recorded against him but he has been dealt with under the Probation Act.
