The Government's insisting indoor dining will be regulated properly when it resumes for those who are vaccinated or recovered from Covid.

There are concerns about inspection and enforcement of the new legislation.

We don’t have a final date but indoor dining should resume sometime next week.

Some in the Opposition said they’d prefer it to remain closed until September, others feel it’s discriminatory.

The Taoiseach says while it’s a risk, it will be done safely.

There will be fines of up to €2,500 for forged vaccine documents or for premises that are not checking certs.

Compliance officers from the HSE and HSA will monitor this with concerns about inspections and enforcement.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says it won’t be a 9 to 5 job.

The legislation, which will be in operation until early October, is set to be published later .
