Politicians have less than 48 hours to convince voters why they should be elected to local councils, the Dail and Europe.

This Friday, Dubliners will choose who should sit on Dublin City Council, Fingal, South Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Councils.

We're also being asked who should represent us in Europe, while those in Dublin 15 have an extra box to tick - they'll pick someone to look after their interests in the Dail, in a by-election triggered by the exit of disgraced TD Patrick Nulty.

That's seen as very close, with analysts unsure who out of the four strongest candidates will take the seat.

In the local elections, the Labour party is expected to take a serious hit, with Sinn Fein looking like it'll win over traditional Labour voters.

That's the opinion of political analysts but it will be up to how Dubliners cast their votes on Friday.
