Figures Show Dole Queues Are Shortening

There's been another jump in the number of people getting a job.

The CSO says dole queues shortened by almost 2% last year.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show unemployment fell to 12.4 per cent in December.

That's down from 14 per cent at the end of 2012 - and the lowest it's been since June 2009.

Economist Jim Power says the improving figures aren't just down to people moving abroad for work:

Meanwhile, more workers will consider switching job this year, compared to last.

A new study's found almost seven in ten people have applied for a job while at work.

Peninsula Ireland has found, on average, Irish workers change jobs every four year
