Fight To Keep Dublin Airport Open Over Paddy's Weekend Going To The Courts

A SIPTU representative says that strike action taking place at three airports next week is absolutely necessary.

The DAA and Ryanair are to seek High Court injunctions against SITPU's four hour work stoppage next Friday.

The airline says the attempt to shut down air access is unlawful, unnecessary and unfair to passengers.

Meanwhile, The DAA says the strike will cause untold disruption during Saint Patrick's weekend.

However, Dermot O'Loughlin from SIPTU says that this action is to prevent more 'financial lunacy'
