A father of four is on life support after being shot multiple times in a farmland row over a dog.
36 year old Keith Conlon was attacked in a rural area outside Tallaght on Tuesday.
A man in his 50s who was arrested at the scene in the Hazel Grove area on Tuesday remains in garda custody.
The Irish Independent reports that Keith Conlon was shot at least three times, including once in the head.
At least five people were present at the time of the shooting and Gardaí have taken statements from a number of witnesses.
The newspaper claims the main issue investigators are examining is whether the main suspect in the case was acting in self-defence.
