The false widow spider is up to 230 times more poisonous than Irish species and your regular 'Daddy Long-Legs'.
That's according to new research published by NUIG, into their rapid spread across Ireland.
The Irish Times reports the creepy crawly, originally from the Canary Islands and Madeira, usually has a bite like a bee-sting.
However, some recent cases in Ireland have led to people being treated for their injuries in hospital.
The team at NUIG has been studying the spider for the last five years, including its venom and behaviour. During that time the spider killed and ate 95 per cent of its opponents.
