Explosive device disarmed in Finglas

An explosive device was disarmed in the city early this morning.

Gardaí attended a home in Glenties Park in Finglas, and called in the Defence Forces.

The Army EOD team declared the device safe and it has been removed from the scene for analysis.

The Irish Mirror reports the explosive had been delivered to the house by a drone.

A Garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí attended a domestic residence following reports of a suspicious device in Glenties Park, Finglas, Dublin 11 in the early hours of this morning, Monday 5th May 2025.

"The Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended the scene and later declared the device safe.

"The device was subsequently removed for further analysis.

"Investigations are ongoing."
