A device partially exploded under a car in West Dublin yesterday evening.
It happened in Tallaght just after half six.
Residents heard a small explosion in Rosefield Park.
Gardai found a gas canister which had been set on fire and partially exploded.
The car wasn't damaged in the incident and the device has been taken away to be examined.
