The Education Minister’s been defending new grants he’s giving to some primary schools to help them set up book rental schemes.
Around 80 percent of schools operate some sort of a scheme but others don’t.
The INTO say it’s a slap in the face for schools who’ve been proactive in setting them up and have called for the 15 million Euro grant to be spread to all schools.
But Ruairi Quinn says this is about helping hard pressed parents with book costs.
