Pubs, nightclubs, cafes, and theatres are among 433 organisations being offered a share of €4,000,000 to help fund off-peak entertainment in our towns and cities.
It's part of a pilot scheme by government to develop a vibrant and diverse night-time economy across the country.
The new scheme is creating thousands of employment days - and already becoming an important jobs source for artists and performers across the country.
The range of applications submitted shows the enthusiasm of the night-time economy to be innovative and creative in their offerings.
Well in excess of 2000 events in every county across the country, have been approved for funding.
They include live music, DJ nights, theatre, comedy, dance, literature, art and exhibitions.
The scheme includes a specific strand of funding for unlicensed premises like cafés, and dry bars - and there's also been a big effort to support venues in rural towns and villages - outside our major cities.
