€12m Fund To Help The Likes Of Plumbers, Carpenters And Taxi Drivers

A €12 million euro grant scheme is now open to the likes of carpenters, plumbers and taxi drivers to help with business costs.

Sole traders left out of work by Covid-19 can apply for up to a €1,000 from social welfare offices.

The money has been set aside as part of the Enterprise Support Grant, aimed at peolple who can't get the Restart grant.

To qualify, a business owner must have come off the Pandemic Unemployment Payment after May 17th, when then national lockdown was first eased.

Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys explains how to apply;

"It's a two-page application and you go on to the Department of Social Protection website, you download the form and you send it to your local Intreo office and the grant will be issued to you as soon as the application is processed."
