€1.6 million worth of drugs have been seized in north west Dublin.
Shortly after 6.30pm yesterday evening, gardaí from the National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau intercepted a vehicle in Blanchardstown.
A separate search operation was carried out under warrant at a business premises in the area. During the course of the raids 80 kilos of cannabis herb, estimated to be worth €1.6 million, was seized.
Gardaí say it was as a result of ongoing investigations targeting organised criminal activity under Operation Tara.
A 42 year-old man was arrested in relation to drug trafficking.
He's being detained at a Dublin garda station and can be questioned for up to a week.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
