Plans for a cruise ship berth in Dun Laoghaire have to go back to the drawing board after a legal case was taken against the decision.
Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company was granted planning permission for this revamp of the harbour in November.
In included an 18 million euro redevelopment of the port which would have allowed ships of up to 250 metres to dock.
However Environments group Save Our Seafront challenged the decision in the High Court.
The group argued that the environmental effects of the proposed project had not been assessed contrary to an EU directive.
An Bord Pleanala has decided not to defend the case which means that the harbour company has to send its application back to the board for further assessment.
