Three puppies that were dumped in a black bag in Ballyfermot earlier this week have found foster homes.
The pups were discovered cold and scared in a front garden at 5pm on Wednesday evening.
They were cared for overnight in the DSPCA shelter and were given temporary foster homes yesterday, but will return to the shelter in a couple of weeks in the hope of finding permanent owners.
Gillian Bird of the DSPCA says there's no excuse for the previous owner's behaviour.
"They were dumped at five o'clock in the evening, so there's no excuse because DSPCA services run until 8pm," she said.
"These puppies are only about six weeks old, so they were too young to be Christmas puppies, but they were obviously born just before Christmas. They were obviously the result of someone not neutering their animals.
"The owner didn't want them anymore and couldn't find a home for them, so just dumped them."
