Dublin city centre is the second slowest urban centre in the world for drivers.
A survey by TomTom found journeys of 10km in the capital took an average of 29 minutes and 30 seconds last year, a minute longer than 2022.
It found Thursday October 19th was the worst day to travel through Dublin last year, with the average travel time to drive 10 km standing at 36 minutes and 10 seconds.
The analysis found London, which has widespread 32 kilometre an hour speed limits, was the slowest of 387 city centres surveyed worldwide. A typical 10 km journey in the city in 2023 took 37 minutes and 20 seconds.
Dublin was followed by Toronto and Milan on the list, while Lima in Peru rounded off the top 5.
In the four cities, drivers lose an average of one minute for every kilometer they drive because of overall traffic and congestion.
