A Dublin TD says the city centre isn't safe at night.
A lack of street lighting, derelict buildings and an increase in violence are highlighted as reasons for the unease.
An actor from Ukraine was recently attacked on Eden Quay.
Social Democrat Deputy Gary Gannon is now calling for the north inner city taskforce, which was set up after the feud, to incorporate safety around the city centre into it's remit.
Last weekend’s unprovoked attack on Ukrainian actor Oleksandr Grekov on Eden Quay is a stark reminder of how dangerous Dublin city centre has become at night.
Govt needs to get in front of this. It requires a multi-faceted response involving the gardaí, DCC and health agencies. pic.twitter.com/URhU9gRGrR

He says women and members of the LGBTQ plus community feel particularly vulnerable at night. And he wants the Government to take more of an interest in safety in Dublin.
He said: ''What I have been calling for, for over a year is for the state to take a bigger interest in the capital city and I've been frustrated with a lack of reaction.''
Currently, Deputy Gannon said, the Government and Dublin City Council “blame each other” for the issues on O’Connell Street – but in an absence of innovation continues, it will continue to fall apart.
“O’Connell Street, the main street of the capital, is in a state of disrepair,” he said.
“It’s too important to let go.
"I absolutely love this city - nowhere else in the world I'd rather live and walk up and down."
