Organisers of the The Battle of Clontarf Festival say that more than 40,000 people have so far turned out for the first day of the weekend event at St Anne's Park in Raheny.
Over 500 Vikings are marking the millennium anniversary of the Battle.
They've come from all over the world to recreate what happened between them and Brian Boru's army.
People are being advised to use public transport, with additional buses running on both days, however there will be no DART service on Sunday.
There will also be a children’s zone with lots of activities for the younger visitor to enjoy, including Viking themed children’s art and crafts, storytelling and much more.
The highlight of the event each day will be the two 30-45 minute large-scale re-enactments of the battle of Clontarf with authentically armed and clad Viking warriors including some on horseback.
