Over 20 thousand people are taking part in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon in the city today.
The marathon, which first launched in 1980, is the fourth biggest in Europe and attracts athletes from over 60 countries.
People are taking part throughout the day by running, walking or in their wheelchairs.
This year's men's winner also claimed the record of the fastest time to complete the course.
Ethiopia's Kemal Husen completes the 42 kilometre track in just under 2 hours and 7 minutes.
In what was only his second ever marathon, the 20-year-old knocked over one minute off his personal best from earlier this year,
Sorome Negash of Ethiopia was crowned the women's champion, with a time of 2 hours and 26 minutes.
Stephen Scullion was the first Irish person to finish the route, and he came in with a time of 2 hours and 11 minutes.
Ann-Marie McGlynn from Letterkenny AC took the women’s national title in two hours, thirty-four minutes, and thirteen seconds, finishing as the fifth fastest female overall.
In the wheelchair race the winner was Patrick Monahan taking his seventh Dublin Marathon title.
The marathon followed a route from Fitzwilliam Square, up to Phoenix Park, past the RDS and ended at Merrion Square.
