A Polish man on trial for trying to kill his wife with a hammer told Gardai she used to hit him and made his life "hell".
Andrzej Benko of Ladyswell Road, Mulhuddart admits attacking Joanna Benko in July 2010 but denies her attempted murder.
Joanna Benko is now almost fully confined to a wheelchair after being beaten in the head with a lump hammer by her husband.
She was left in a critical condition after he attacked her while she slept in their bed just a few hours after he bought her flowers for her birthday.
Yesterday, the jury heard the emergency call he made after leaving the house to hand himself into Gardai.
And today, we've been hearing details of four Garda interviews, during which Andrzej admitted beating his wife.
He told detectives that her drug habit had made his life "hell" and that she used to hit him.
He said he thought she was going to leave him and described how she spent all his money.
"I wanted to make my justice", he said. "Justice to finish my hell".
The trial continues before a jury of ten men and two women at the Central Criminal Court.
