A Dublin man is to be released from prison after having a year slashed from his three year sentence for possessing thousands of images of child pornography.
Bryan O'Byrne, previously of Newbridge Avenue in Sandymount, pleaded guilty to having the images at his home.
The Court of Criminal Appeal accepts the offending in the case is serious, but it's ruled too little emphasis was placed on mitigating factors.
He will continue to undergo three years post release supervision.
