A 50-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Conor O'Brien in Co. Meath.
Earl McKevitt, of Avondale Park in Mulhuddart in Dublin 15, was also charged with 5 further offences following an incident at a hotel in Carlow earlier this week.
Earl McKevitt appeared before Carlow District Court this afternoon, facing six charges in total.
Mr McKevitt is accused of the murder of 19-year-old Conor O'Brien in Enfield, county Meath, after his body was found outside a house last Friday.
Detective Sgt Lee Gavin of Trim Garda Station said Mr McKevitt made no reply under caution.
Mr McKevitt was also charged with 5 further offences arising from an incident at a hotel in Carlow last Tuesday evening.
These include the unlawful possession of a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, six rounds of ammunition and a knife.
Detective Garda Ian Roche from Carlow Garda Station told the court Mr McKevitt did not reply to these charges also.
An application for free legal aid was granted by judge Geraldine Carthy.
He will appear before Cloverhill District court next Friday, September 10th.
