Dublin is getting 50 times less funding for local services than some rural areas.
New figures from the city council show that Dublin is largely subsidising other parts of the country.
Dublin city has been allocated €5.06 per person through the Local Government Fund for this year, Fingal, €1.66 and south Dublin €3.48.
That compares to over €260 per person in Leitrim.
The disparity is replicated nationally with urban areas receiving far less funding than rural councils.
The fund is largely made up of local property tax payments and follows a u turn by the Environment Minister to keep 80 percent of the payments locally.
