The Health Minister has not ruled out that some hospital emergency departments in the city could close.
However James Reilly says that no decision will be made until a review is carried out.
The HSE is to organise a national audit of services which could lead to the merger or closure of some emergency departments.
However Minister Reilly has said that this wouldn't happen until a safe alternative was put in place...
