Dublin City Council is to take legal action over the demolition of a house which belonged to a 1916 leader.
40 Herbert Park in Ballsbridge was bulldozed earlier this week to make way for 105 luxury apartments.
The property was the former home of The O'Rahilly, the only leader to have been killed fighting during the 1916 Rising.
Dublin city Councillors had voted to protect the house as a listed building earlier this month.
Sinn Féin Cllr Welcomes News Of Legal Action
Meanwhile one Councillor has welcomed news, saying there are questions that need to be answered.
Cllr Micheal Mac Donncha says he has plenty of questions about the demolition.
"Well I'm not surprised that this has happened, it's welcome."
"In my view the demolition was against planning law"
"Take for example the issue of the Bord Pleanala consent to demolition, after that's issued there is a period of 8 weeks where it can be appealed via a judicial review."
"The developer did not allow that period to lapse, so went ahead with the demolition."
"As I said it's my view that it's in contravention of planning law."
