Dublin's shopping streets have already had their Christmas lights switched on this year.
More than 30 streets in the city centre are lit up by the business group DublinTown.
However, a new addition to Grafton Street has sparked a public outcry.
Many people have complained about lights that read "Welcome To Grafton Quarter".
They have been dismissed as lacking the Christmas spirit, and "celebrating shopping".
A number of Dublin landmarks will also light up shortly, as part of Winter Lights.
The Custom House, Trinity College and the Samuel Beckett Bridge are just some of the locations that will feature festive displays for December.
