A Dublin Bus, filmed driving along a footpath on a busy road in Rathfarnham, has been described as a shocking example of dangerous driving.
A video posted on twitter on Tuesday shows the double-decker trying to avoid a line of traffic by travelling on the path and a cycle track in front of houses.
There's no bus lane along that stretch of the Rathfarnham Road, heading toward Terenure.
So there I was, sitting in traffic that was stopped between Rathfarnham and Terenure when a Dublin Bus went past me on the inside, in the pavement and bicycle Lane. 11am today. @dublinbusnews @TFIupdates @Dept_Transport @IrishTimes @IrishSunOnline @irishdailymail pic.twitter.com/pfwdpXLC1s

Dublin city councillor Carolyn Moore raised the issue at Dublin city council's transport meeting during a discussion on the Road Safety Authority's "Be Safe, Be Seen" campaign yesterday;
"If you take that bus in Terenure yesterday, any pedestrian who stepped out of their front gate into the path of that bus could have been lit up like a carnival and they still would have been injured in that scenario if not killed."
